The Richmond-ECIA Grant Program Request for Application (RFA) for FY 18-19 was released on Thursday, February 8, 2018. The deadline to submit an application and all relevant attachments was Friday, March 16, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. The grant cycle featured changes made to the Eligibility Requirements, Grant Award Amounts and Categories, and Submission Requirements.
The City received 52 responses that were all forwarded to the ECIA Grant Review Ad Hoc Committee (Committee). The applications were reviewed and scored by the Committee who recommended 24 organizations for funding (see list). City staff notified grant recipients of their awards and provided information on the next steps of the grant process. It is our goal to enter into grant agreements with the recipients by the end of July 2018.
On Monday, July 16, 2018, a list of organizations, who were not initially funded through Categories 1 and 2 of the FY 18-19 ECIA Grant Program, was provided to the City Council ECIA Ad Hoc Committee for further consideration. The recommendations for funding is scheduled for approval by City Council on July 24, 2018.
The Richmond – ECIA Competitive Grant Program is funded through the Chevron Modernization Project Environmental and Community Investment Agreement (ECIA) that was entered into between the City of Richmond and Chevron. Funding will be available over the next 10 years to fund programs that support community, youth and youth sports. Grants will be awarded on an annual basis and awards will range from $2,500 to $50,000. Non-profit organizations that provide services focused on community, youth, and youth sports services to Richmond residents are all eligible. Non-profits must have 501(c)(3) tax status or plan to use a fiscal sponsor that has 501(c)(3) tax status.
