Cecily M. McMahan (email)
Production Coordinator
KCRT-TV, Richmond, CA

Cecily McMahan

With a total of 40 years in television production, Cecily McMahan has been Production Coordinator at KCRT for the last 18 years.

She became interested in broadcasting while in school doing news and interviews for a local cable station in New Mexico.  Working for KNME (PBS) in Albuquerque, NM in the 70’s, she expanded her knowledge in production and then served four years with the US Navy at American Forces Radio Television Service in Los Angeles.

In choosing to work for small stations around the country, she has remained focused on the ever-changing technology in the industry as it has allowed smaller television stations to serve larger audiences effectively and economically.

In addition to her work in production, she has also taught practical TV production for high schools, colleges, and non-profit media groups.  She is a frequent speaker on Public Relations and local media, and currently working on a book for building small stations, called Beg, Borrow, and Steal TV.
