The
Richmond General Plan is a series of workshops and
meetings that address the key factors for a
well-functioning city and its growth.
The plan shapes how and where the City will grow and the
ways it can change to reflect the needs of its people.
Residents can recommend changes to the Downtown plan,
they can say what they want the downtown to look like;
what type of housing should be built; what can be done
to decrease crime, develop guidelines that support
small, local businesses and attract stores and
restaurants.
Richmond has scheduled a series of unique interactive
'Your Vision of Richmond Workshops' as forums where
people can tell the City representatives what they
think. The opinions and ideas of attendees from the
workshops will form the basis of Richmond's General Plan
the blueprint for the community's vision for the future.
Although the workshops are not televised, KCRT is
covering the General Plan Advisory Meetings, held
once-a-month in the Richmond City Council Chambers.
