Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center is proud to release
this historic footage of the legendary ranchera singer
Yolanda del Rio and Chicano singer/songwriter
Lalo Guerrero (who died in 2005 at the age 88) along
with youth group Los Cenzontles. The 5-day
Festival brought youth groups from Mexico and throughout
California to celebrate and document the passing of
Mexican traditions.
Pasajero
song videos feature complete performance excerpts from
the award winning documentary "Pasajero, A Journey of
Time and Memory." Pasajero is apowerful story of a group
of young Mexican-American musicians who accompany their
mariachi maestro on his homecoming to Mexico. Together
they perform a forgotten style of roots mariachi music
and dance and meet people who embody the spirit of old
Mexico. Pasajero is a heartfelt reminder of the vital
role that music plays in defining our identities.
