KCRT is
airing two Sikhs specials back-to-back: The Sikh Next
Door and Punjabi Cab.
The
Sikh Next Door: Produced in a quick-paced
documentary style, The Sikh Next Door video
introduces students to four Sikh American youth, who
take them on a tour of their bi-cultural lives. This
short film and the accompanying lesson plans encourage
all students to think about diversity, immigration,
history and personal identity.

Punjabi Cab (documentary): Since September 11,
2001, turban-wearing Sikhs in America have endured
harassment and violence because they are mistaken for
the stereotypical Middle Eastern terrorist. The
documentary looks at the lives of San Francisco Bay Area
taxi drivers working under the threat.
