KCRT is airing two Sikhs specials back-to-back: The Sikh Next Door and Punjabi Cab.

The Sikh Next Door: Produced in a quick-paced documentary style, The Sikh Next Door video introduces students to four Sikh American youth, who take them on a tour of their bi-cultural lives. This short film and the accompanying lesson plans encourage all students to think about diversity, immigration, history and personal identity.

Produced by: Lohgarh Sikh Educational Foundation and TRY Productions with support from NCCJ, Chevron-Texaco Sept. 11th Anti-Bias Fund.

Punjabi Cab (documentary): Since September 11, 2001, turban-wearing Sikhs in America have endured harassment and violence because they are mistaken for the stereotypical Middle Eastern terrorist. The documentary looks at the lives of San Francisco Bay Area taxi drivers working under the threat.

Directed and edited by: Liam Dalzell
Cinematography: LIam Dalzell
Sound: Sally Rubin
Original music: Matt Knoth
Production Assistance: Rich Harris, III

Distributed by: The Center for Asian American Media
